Appearing on 7 Sharp: Sharing the Nosebuds Story with New Zealand
Spring is just around the corner, and for so many of us, that means hay fever season is about to hit hard. So when 7 Sharp invited us to share our story, we jumped at the chance to talk about Nosebuds, a little Kiwi invention with big dreams of helping allergy sufferers breathe easy.
The segment kicked off with that classic spring vibe: lambs, daffodils, and the all-too-familiar itch and sneeze. The 7 Sharp team dove straight into the realities of hay fever and why so many people find themselves reaching for allergy meds and nasal sprays as soon as the pollen count rises.
But this time, there was something new to try. The hosts introduced Nosebuds, yes, a gadget that looks a bit like headphones for your nose! Watching them unbox it on camera was a total highlight. There was a mix of curiosity and amusement as they showed off the soft silicone tips and the tiny motors inside. The sound? Somewhere between a mosquito and a mini drone, but it’s all part of the magic.
Dr. David White, the inventor, joined the conversation to share how Nosebuds came to be. He talked about his journey from car mechanic to nose expert, and how years of research (and a bit of Kiwi ingenuity) led to a device that helps open up nasal passages using gentle vibration and airflow. The goal: help your body clear out those pesky allergens, no meds required.
One of the best moments was seeing the hosts try Nosebuds for themselves on live TV. There were a few laughs about the “bumblebee up your nose” feeling, but also genuine surprise at how comfortable and easy it was to use. And as Dr. White explained, it’s as simple as ten minutes, twice a day, just like brushing your teeth.
The feedback from users featured on the show was so encouraging. One early adopter shared how he’s finally enjoying spring without the constant battle against a blocked nose. The pharmacist on the segment highlighted how much allergies can mess with your day, and how new solutions like this are so needed.
By the end of the segment, it was clear: whether you’re a lifelong hay fever sufferer or just looking for a new way to tackle spring, Nosebuds are sparking real interest. Being able to share our story on 7 Sharp was such a great way to show Kiwis that there’s hope for a sniffle-free season and maybe even a few laughs along the way!
